To say that this was the first attempt at a drawing using a tablet, it is absolutely fantastic! It's a 100 times better than my first attempt with a tablet, and all those afterwards to be honest. I love the delicateness of it and the colours are beautiful. I love the way you have done the horizon too; the way the buildings are faded slightly gives it a foggy feel with I think fits perfectly. I do feel that the shading could have been done a little better because there doesn't seem to be a definite light source on the piece. I also adore how you've done the leaves on the trees. It really does look like a watercolour. Fantastic work.
Really nice job! I have an intuos4 as well! It seems like a huge step up from the intuos3, and I agree it's awesome :3 When I first picked up my tablet I had a hard time getting the hang of using it myself, but you are much more skilled at digital painting than I Usually when I critique a work, I try to provide both positive and negative feedback, but I am having a hard time finding something I dislike about your piece. The only thing I would say is that it might add more depth if there was more cloud structure. However, the shadows you have in the field do a nice job of giving great depth of field. I really like the little things you added in the foreground. The little people and their shadows, the steps on the ladder, I think the things like this are my favorite. Also rather than having bare rock, it's nice that you added the vines/moss growing down. I think maybe the tree could use some darker tones in the leaves, but you have and awesome technique for creating foliage, i don't even want to imagine how many leaves you had to put in there When I look at this, the city isn't the first thing I look at but it's definitely the most interesting on second glance. An industrial society by the looks of it with tall buildings.(and smog?) Made hazy by the distance, I can't tell what's going on in there but it makes one wonder.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful piece I think this would make an awesome desktop wallpaper btw
Let me just say . . . my first work, if I ever get a tablet . . will be stick figures and bouncy balls. If after 10 tries , I was able to create something half as detailed as this, I would consider myself victorious lol. great work
