After lots of delays it's finally done! This piece is NOT pro-religious or pro-christian. I'm christian, I respect your beliefs and I certainly won't try to impose anything on you, it's simply a painting based on a biblic story, please don't feel offended.
Concept:
I decided to do something a bit different this time. As I said, this piece is loosely based on a biblic story, more precisely, the relatively briefly documented ascension of Enoch.
When some angels fell to mankind's lust, greed, hate and corruption, God became displeased. When the world was on the verge of being punished by His wrath, Enoch, a just man with the most noble of mortal souls, was chosen. The mortal man ascended to heaven and walked with God, being tasked with cleasing the corruption that fell over mankind. Enoch became the chief of all Archangels, eternal guardian of all heavenly knowledge and God's direct emissary and justiciar, often speaking with the voice of God Himself. Later he returned to earth, armed with God's sword and armor, hunting and bringing the rebel angels to heavenly judgement. This is his ascension and the moment he began his transformation as an angel.
It was heavenly inspired (ha! pun!) by the Biblic story of Enoch, with some elements from El Shaddai:Ascension Of Metraton (a cool, almost arthouse game), deviant (check him out!), God Of War, Rennaisance, Baroque and Gustave Doré's illustrations
that's it guys, I really hope you like it and please don't take it as religious propaganda, take it merely as an illustration of a story and no drama!
I love El Shaddai:Ascension Of Metraton and Enoch - both the Biblical one and El Shaddai's hero.
Favoured.
i'm still reading his book.
i love it because you can almost feel the magic, the atmosphere...
